Coach Paul Glass, a 1987 graduate of Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Alabama, attended Jacksonville State University from 1987-1991, where he played baseball for Alabama Hall of Fame Coach Rudy Abbott. During his time at Jacksonville State, Coach Glass was a member of four Division II College World Series teams including two National Championship teams in 1990 and 1991.
Coach Glass started his coaching career at Wayne County High School in Jesup, Georgia. During his six years at Wayne County, Coach Glass coached the C-Team for three years and served as the varsity assistant for three years. In 1999, Coach Glass took over as the Head Baseball Coach at Jeff Davis High School. Since 1999, Jeff Davis has enjoyed some of the best years in the school’s history of baseball. In 2002, Jeff Davis qualified for the state playoffs for the first time in the school’s history. In 2003, the Yellow Jackets finished as region runner-up and earned the school’s first home payoff series. In 2004, the Yellow Jackets finished as region runner-up again and went on to finish as state runner-up. Since 2004, Jeff Davis has won their first region championship (2006), averaging 20 wins each season and finished in the Elite 8 or better.
Coach Glass is married to the former Jennifer Pye of Jesup, Georgia. They have two children, twins Matthew and Madelyn.
Assistant Coach - Paul Cason
Coach Cason, a 1995 graduate of Jeff Davis High School, attended Mercer University where he received a B. A. in History, and Valdosta State University where he obtained his teacher’s certification. He has received his Masters and an Education Specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Coach Cason began his coaching career at Appling County Middle School, coaching middle school baseball. In his second year, Coach Cason became the Junior Varsity Head Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Appling County.
After two years in Appling County, Coach Cason moved to Jeff Davis, working as both middle school assistant coach and high school hitting coach. He has served as assistant varsity, assistant junior varsity, and hitting coach for Jeff Davis from 2004-present. Coach Cason has helped to guide Jeff Davis varsity and junior varsity to some of the best seasons in the school’s history.
Coach Cason is married to the former Leigh Johnson of Baxley, Georgia.
Assistant Coach - Steven Wilcox
Steven Wilcox, a 1983 graduate of Jeff Davis High School, also graduated from Mercer University where he obtained his teaching certification. He received his Masters and Education Specialist degrees from Nova Southeastern University.
Coach Wilcox started his coaching career in 1998 as assistant varsity coach. In 1999, Jeff Davis Middle School added baseball. Coach Wilcox served as Head Coach for four seasons. In those four seasons, JDMS was conference runner-up in 2000 and conference champion in 2002. In 2003, Coach Wilcox joined the varsity staff, serving as varsity assistant, pitching coach, and JV Head Coach. Since his joining the varsity and JV staff, Jeff Davis teams have averaged at least 15 wins in four of the last five seasons.
He and his wife Donna have two children, Brooke and Brett.
Head MIDDLE SCHOOL COACH (Blue Team) - Richard Stone
Richard Stone, a graduate of Jeff Davis High School (1985), received his B. S. and Masters degrees from Valdosta State University. He received his Ed. S. degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Coach Stone started his coaching career, in Alma, Georgia, at Bacon Co. High School in 1992. He spent five years in Alma, serving as a varsity assistant football and baseball coach. In 1997 Coach Stone moved to Vidalia where he served as both offensive coordinator & varsity baseball coach and head middle school football coach. In 2005 Coach Stone came to Jeff Davis and served as offensive coordinator & head middle school football coach. He currently serves as assistant principal at Jeff Davis Middle School, head middle school football coach, and assistant middle school baseball coach.
Coach Stone and his wife Julie have 3 children: Gunner, LeeAnna and Logan.
Assistant MIDDLE SCHOOL COACH (Blue Team) - Brent Bridges
Brent Bridges, a graduate of Jeff Davis High (2004), received his B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State University.
Coach Bridges is a former Jeff Davis High School baseball player. He was a part of the first Jeff Davis baseball team to reach the playoffs, and finished his career in 2004 as Jeff Davis ended its season as state runner-up. This year is Coach Bridges’ first year as a coach. He currently is teaching at the Jeff Davis Primary School and is the assistant Jeff Davis Middle School baseball coach.
Coach Bridges is married to the former Amanda Ricketson of Hazlehurst, Georgia
